About Me
My Story
I was born in Havana, Cuba. From an early age, I was inclined to the arts. I was very passionate about sketching and was also involved in theater and music at a local cultural center. Unfortunately, I had to put my love for the arts on hold, as I sought to seek a better life away from the Cuban government. I was forced to adjust to a new country and opted for a conventional career, which I thought would be the best way to secure my future. Walking away from the arts, I decided to play it safe and study medicine at the University of Florida. I couldn’t leave behind a lifelong calling to the arts, and decided to take a chance doing what I really loved most. After a year, I decided to come back to Miami to pursue a career in acting, which exposed me to the photographic side of film. I came across photography purely by chance. I assisted a photographer who needed help setting up photo shoots. It was the most eye opening experience I’ve ever had. I was completely hooked. And I knew I had fallen in love with photography.
My Experience
While exploring my niche in photography, I have come across a number of photographers who I have had the pleasure of working with. Watching Juan Manuel Garcia create magical images was an amazing experience. I am very much inspired by his creativity, and I aspire to capture the attention of audiences in the same way his work does. I have also drawn inspiration for business headshots from Peter Hurly and for sports portraits from Monte Isom. Dani Diamond is also a huge role model. He has an uncanny knack for bringing out the best features in his subjects, which is something I continually aim to do.
